Hatarilabs is a blog dedicated to the knowledge sharing in water resources modeling based on open source software. One of our main interest is groundwater modeling and we research on the latest software developments for groundwater flow and transport simulation as well as enhanced tools for data visualization. We have more than 40 tutorials in groundwater modeling that deals with model construction, simulation, output representation, parameter estimation, GIS integration and many others aspects:

Our objective is to increase the professional capacities of water resources specialists that will lead to better evaluations needed for a sustainable management of our groundwater / surface water resources. From the beginning we have used some innovative tools as the video and social networks, right now we have more than 3.2K Facebook followers and 2.7K Youtube followers.

The blog has more than 800 visits per day and around 30 come from Italy, that is why we want to reach personally our italian audience by organizing some applied groundwater modeling events in Rome. The topics of the workshops are:

Basic level:

  • Introduction to groundwater modeling with MODFLOW and Flopy

Intermediate level

  • Xylene remediation modeling with MODFLOW / MT3D and Flopy

Every workshop last 2 hours and they are free of charge. If you are a teacher, student or professional related to hydrogeology, you can help us to organize this events. Please do not hesitate to contact us for the event coordination to my email: saulmontoya@hatarilabs.com.

Proposed date: October 10, 2019
