A new version of the FREEWAT plugin (v.1.1.1) for QGIS is now available for download!

Dear FREEWAT Users,

We wish to inform you that a new version of the FREEWAT plugin (v.1.1.1) is available since December the 4th 2018.

Besides fixing some minor bugs (thanks to Iacopo Borsi – TEA SISTEMI SpA) notified by the FREEWAT Users, this release includes:

  •  an enhancement of the Multi-Node Well package (MNW2) of MODFLOW (thanks to Giovanna De Filippis – Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna);

  •  two new packages for solute exchange with surface water bodies (e.g., rivers, lakes). This is now accomplished in FREEWAT through the integration of the Streamflow Transport (SFT) and Lake Transport (LKT) packages of MT3D-USGS (thanks to Giovanna De Filippis – Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna).

A list of the bugs fixed is available in the plugin folder.

The following User Manuals have been updated accordingly:

  • FREEWAT User Manual – Volume 0 (Reference Manual)

  • FREEWAT User Manual – Volume 1 (Groundwater modeling using MODFLOW-OWHM (One Water Hydrologic Flow Model))

  •  FREEWAT User Manual – Volume 2 (Heat and Solute Transport in Subsurface Water Flow)

 The tutorial particle_tracking has been also updated.

As usual, FREEWAT v.1.1.1 can be downloaded, along with the installation guide and a complete set of up-to-date User Manuals and Tutorials (some of them are also available in Italian), through accessing the Software -> Download area page of the FREEWAT website.

NOTE: tutorials describing the implementation of the above-mentioned MNW2, SFT and LKT packages are not yet available.

 

The following video tutorials are now available thanks to the support of SUPSI University and Hatari Labs:

  •  How to install the FREEWAT plugin;

  •  A general overview of the Observation Analysis Tool (OAT);

  •  OAT tutorial;

  •  A general overview of the Lake package of MODFLOW;

  •  Lake tutorial. 

                   

To access the Download area page of the FREEWAT website, login is needed.

New Users can register through this link.

 

Already registered users don’t need to register again, they can use the same username and password received by e-mail after the first registration (NOTE: the username required is NOT the email contact).

 

The most updated version of the FREEWAT plugin can also be downloaded from the official QGIS repository of experimental plugins.
